We have come to the end of our journey. This is the final stop in the Positivity QAL 2021.
It took many emails, phone calls, scribbles and scrawls, and test blocks. There were a couple of disappointments but many pleasant surprises. My hope was a dozen new quilts for the Mercyful Hospital. Bernie tells me that we have 19. So far.

I know Diann's quilt is in progress. Joy is working on (at least) two quilts and quilting one flimsy received from Astrid. Mari is working on a second Positivity quilt.

I am certain that Mercy Hospital will receive about 24 Positivity quilts. So even if I say it myself, the QAL has been a success!

Bernie has been the reason for Mercyful Quilts initiative and I cannot thank her enough. From encouraging the very idea up to the announcement of winners, arranging for the prizes, mailing the prizes and delivering the quilts.
Thank you to all of you who supported and encouraged this journey. Most importantly thank you so much to all of you who selflessly spent your time and energy into these comfort quilts. Sending lots of love and hugs to Wendy, Mari, Nikki, Janine, Kathleen, Roseanne, Alycia, Mary, Judy, Bonnie, Cheree, Susie, Liz, Sylvia, Katie, Arlyn, Cynthia, Julie, Diann, Astrid and Joy!!!
Since I have a quilt in the mix, it is only fair that Bernie should draw the prizes. And here they are - The Positivity QAL Winners.
Let's do it again in 2022. The Positivity QAL in 2022 will begin on Sunday, May 29 and run till Sunday, September 4, 2022.

I wasn't going to buy any more fabrics but then Connecting Threads decided to have a sale and generally I can resist that. But when this gorgeous wide backing fabric was 40% off, my resolve dissolved completely.

all of the quilts look really nice!
ReplyDeleteOh my, lots to see and read here! I'm so excited for how well the quilt along has gone. Next year might be bigger and seeing photos of others quilts (I love the purple one and the primary colors one) has given me inspiration for another one, though a different pattern would be a fun challenge, too! The sisters choice blocks are so bright and pretty, but I'm a lover of orange and realize many are not. (Silly people!) The wide back is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThank you for hosting the Positivity QAL, Preeti! So many pretty quilts! Love that little orange block with the green giraffe :-) but all your projects are beauties!
ReplyDeleteThe Positivity QAL was a huge success. Thank YOU for all you did to organize and make it happen at all! <3
ReplyDeleteMy Positivity blocks are almost to quilt top stage! Slowly but surely I'm making progress. Meanwhile, I love the hints about your blog hop quilt and your IB bag project. Those orange blocks are sure happy!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the Positivity QAL! I enjoyed making Positivity Plaid and hope to try another version.
ReplyDeleteWonderful positivity quilts Preeti, and a very successful QAL. Love the orange blocks and the bag looks good. Getting that wide back on sale was a bargain.
ReplyDeleteThe Positivity was so fun. I'm looking forward to next year!
ReplyDeleteSo many lovely versions of Positivity. And your leftovers are making delightful blocks. Congratulations on a successful contest.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on a very successful QAL! Thank you so much for all your hard work putting it together. There were so many beautiful quilts completed and donated. I look forward to Positivity 2022!
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting the positivity QAL. It was really fun. Good luck with your Annie bag - they are so cool.
ReplyDeleteThank you for hosting and providing the pattern for the QAL. Also thanks for the link for the wide back sale. I finally have a quilt in the works for our king sized bed and it will work perfectly! I donate most of my quilts and don't have a bed in the house with one of mine own! Shocking right? I also picked up two more 4 yard cuts of some Allison Glass and a Jackie Gering....I think I will make another quilt for Bernie. Maybe my winning bundle will find itself back to Bernie! Looking forward to seeing your back pack.
ReplyDeleteHi Preeti! Lovely post and thanks for sharing our quilt. I just ADORE the layout Joy is using on her purple one. Makes me want to make another . . . and thanks to winning a FQ bundle, I will be doing just that. YAY to a second annual Positivity in 2022. I have been shamelessly spreading that rumor, even without confirming it. I just KNEW it had to be an annual event. I succumbed to the CT Labor Day sale as well. Three wide backings and some thread I wanted to try later . . . yeah. Dang it - I'm saving my snowball triangles next time and sending them to you. I have no issue throwing them away . . . but if you're going to make something cute with them then they deserve a good home. {{Hugs}} here's to 5/29/22. ~smile~ Roseanne
ReplyDeleteSo many fun projects you are working on. AND advance notice of a QAL in 2022! We will all be prepared. Thanks again for everything you did to lead this year’s QAL. A success for sure!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on a successful QAL, Preeti!! FYI... I've got 3 quilts in the works + Astrid's quilt top to add to that number. Unfortunately, I'm still waiting for my longarm to be moved from the old house to the new one. No worries! I'll finish them up and send them to Bernie as soon as I am able.
ReplyDelete24 quilts is a great outcome! And such lovely variety. xo
ReplyDeleteWell darn, I didn't notice any 40% off fabric. I took a good look but didn't succumb. I know I will soon! You've got so much going on. Your oranges are so intense. (Beautiful too!) I was another lucky winner -- thanks so much for sponsoring this one. If you plan to do something like this again let me know. I can suggest an organization in No. Va who would love to have some quilts sent their way. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteThank you Preeti for this fun and generous journey, I'm ready for 2022 edition!
ReplyDeleteHugs
Congrats on a successful Positivity QAL!!!
ReplyDeleteWonderful creativity
ReplyDeleteLove the RSC blocks and the bonus project! Very pretty.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful stuff, Preeti. I’m always amazed by your talent and productivity… and I know I you also have a “day job”. Thanks for sharing all of your wonderful projects! ~Diana K.
