Like Sex but Better

Picture this - a warm, sunny day on a beach. Blue skies with just a tiny cloud or two, and the aquamarine waters are neither warm nor cold. And there I am in a hammock made up of your sweet comments, gently cradling me. That is how I feel; thank you for your hugs. I love you and I feel loved!!!

Greens on the Color Wheel

According to Angela, March is Green.  She did not specify light or dark, bright or dingy. So here they are. 

All the greens in five blocks total.

Me: I believe that patchwork/quilting is like sex in so many ways. 

Paul: Gosh, I hope so. You certainly spend a lot of time doing it.

Me: Just like sex, one does not have to be an expert at it to enjoy it.  It may seem awkward and uncomfortable at first but it does get better with experience. If you are not having fun, you are not doing it right and being passionate makes all the difference :-D 

Paul: Don't you need a partner for sex?

Me: Well, a good partner can certainly enhance the sexual experience. But better doing it alone than having a bad sex partner.

Paul: But quilting is done all alone, without a partner? Right?

Me: On the contrary, we have many partners, like Guilds, Bees and now online sessions to sew together.

Paul: Well, are there any differences between quilting and sex?

Me: Cheating is highly encouraged :-D We talk freely about it. There is no shame or taboo.

Paul: You spend a lot of money on quilting. Sex is free.

Me: I don't spend money on sex but it isn't free. I pay in stew and sandwiches. However, I am not sure which industry is bigger - sewing/quilting or porn?

Paul: I am sure that a "finish" takes days or even weeks.

Me: Sometimes. But there are quickie projects too. :-p

Paul: Well, is a quilty finish just as mind-blowing and exhilarating?

Me: Initially yes. But once a finished quilt is photographed and shared on social media and then the feedback and the love and joy... It is so much more!!!

Paul: Anything else?

Me: Yes, I can sew and quilt for hours.

Paul: Make sure you stay hydrated.

Me: And that is another similarity!!! But Thank you, my love!

As I am making these Sister's Choice blocks for the RSC, there are the leftover cuts from the star point  corners. But I am keeping the chaos strictly under control like this.

There should be enough to make a small baby quilt.  Unexpected side effects of quilting :-D

In other news, I am no longer an Accuquilt virgin.  I cut a few binding strips and used my Block on Board Snails Trail die for the very first time and made a block. This is a new relationship and we are taking it slow.
