There is a first time for everything, right? This is my first attempt at making a video.
I hope that what I lack in production quality and overall appeal is balanced (somewhat) by my genuine excitement.

I also received a separate shipment containing the
Accuquilt Ultimate Fabric Cutting System with all the standard supplies, a GO cutting mat and the Snails Trails Die. All this is brand new to me. I am excited and a bit apprehensive.
The Island Batik and Accuquilt challenge will come later in the year. For now I must focus all my energies on the February Blog Hop Challenge. Won't you revisit on February 1, 2021?

ReplyDeleteGreat video! What a big amount of fabric. I am sure you feel like a kid in the candy store :) And what an amazing gift from accu quilt. It can make cutting for curves and such so much easier. I only sew demonstrations & videos but I am sure, you will enjoy it lots :)

ReplyDeleteyou must be so excited to be an ambassador now - I always find it amazing to see what is in these boxes for you - I think you will love the accuquilt and I see the 8" qube - I thought about the 8 inch qube when I got my accuquilt system but went with the 12. Good luck - it will be fun to play with all that fabric.

ReplyDeleteI don't have an AccuQuilt cutter; I use one at the quilt shop for a small fee, but it makes quick work of tedious cutting. You can get to the good part (after fabric shopping -- which you don't have to do) faster.
Good job on the video. You can't see us, but we can see you and your gorgeous smile.

ReplyDeleteOh my GOODNESS; you're going to have SEW much fun!! I, for one, cannot wait to see what goodies you will create with the GO! cutter. I'd forgotten that Island Batiks has SOLID batik fabrics -- wish my LQS carried them because that might have been the perfect option for my kaleidoscope background dilemma, to coordinate with my hand dyed stripes and hand marbled fabrics. I've never tried Hobbs' polyester batting before but have used their 80/20 blend many times over the years, including the black 80/20 that I used for that dark purple Mission Impossible quilt as well as for an Amish-inspired baby quilt with a black background and primary colors. Love it! Hey, for your video, are you able to upload a video to YouTube and then choose the Link from YouTube option to insert the video into your blog post in Blogger? I believe that's how I did it when I made the questionable decision to include a video of me singing a duet with my dog in a blog post once... ;-)

I’m jealous of those green batiks, the Accuquilt cutter (I only have a Go!Baby - must upsize!), and about a dozen other things, LOL. I know we’ll be seeing some great things from you - Island Batik is lucky to have you!
ReplyDeleteYou are going to be fabulous as an Island Batik Ambassador. Your video was great and it was very nice to "meet" you via video. I love my Go cutter. I suggest you watch any videos that are geared to beginners. There are a few rules should follow to use them to get the best results. I've been using my dies continuously over the last week or so. Have a great time creating with all of the fabulous goodies.
