Meet Nilsa. She is my newest finish and a pattern is available now.
At 60" by 83", Nilsa can be a Mercyful Quilt. The pattern can also be used to make a Quilt of Valor.
Nilsa, 60" by 83" |
I used the Island Batik collection - Blushing Garden to make Nilsa.
Have you seen Blushing Garden? It is a beautiful collection with my favorite colors - red, pink and gold. Even a bit of teal to brighten things up. They are beautiful and sunny!
It is Layer-Cake Friendly. If you have been just petting a layer cake for a while because there wasn't a suitable pattern for it, this is your chance. All you need is about 4 1/4 yards of background fabric. That will take care of all the background, borders and binding.
If you wish to use Blushing Garden, you are in luck. It is available in stores right now. For background, I recommend Egg White from the Island Batik Foundations.
If you'd rather use fabrics from your stash, that works perfectly too.
Nilsa Quilt Pattern has eight pages of detailed instructions complete with colored graphics, and a full-page Coloring Sheet. I have also provided step-by-step guidance for on-point setting, showing diagonal columns and how to attach setting triangles.
Finally, the pattern is 25% off from Monday, 11/20/23 through Sunday, 11/26/23.
Separately, there will be a storewide sale beginning on Thanksgiving, 11/23/23.
But wait, there is more. For a chance to win a free copy of Nilsa PDF Pattern (or any pattern of your choice from my Etsy Shop), please let me know in the comments - what is your favorite Thanksgiving side dish? If you are Anonymous or No-Reply, please include your email.
UPDATE - The two lucky winners are Elana and Frederique. Emails have been sent.
Till then, have a safe and happy Thanksgiving!
I will be sharing with all my favorite linky parties. See full list on the sidebar.

ReplyDeleteThat is a great quilt. Hum... mashed potatoes or stuffing... this week I'll go with the stuffing as we really only have it with turkey. Enjoy your week.
ReplyDeleteAnother really beautiful design! Do I have to choose between the stuffing and the potatoes? Hmm - stuffing wins if it's made by my son-in-law. And since he's the main chef this year again for Thanksgiving it will be his stuffing.
ReplyDeleteNissan is a pretty design, Preeti! Love that fabric line you made it out of - so pretty. I keep zooming in on your photos to see if I can figure out the individual blocks. You always have such great ideas for block construction! Favorite Thanksgiving side dish - the potatoes!
ReplyDeleteOur family favorite side dish is Stuffin Muffins - stuffing baked in muffin tins, crusty on the outside. They freeze well. Happy Thanksgiving and thanks for the chance!

ReplyDeleteShe's so pretty! I love the teal with the warm colors. Took me a while to understand why the on point mentions-I can be a little slow! Ambrosia salad does it for me, it's the best. :-)
ReplyDeleteYou are always showing beautiful quilts that you make and Nilsa is no exception. I wish I had half the ability that you have. My favorite thanksgiving food is deviled eggs made by my youngest daughter. They are a family favorite.
ReplyDeleteI love your quilt, so colorful. My favorite dish is a raspberry salad with a pretzel crust.
ReplyDeleteI like this pattern a lot! My favorite side dish is stuffing. I have to make it separate from the bird because we roast ours and collect the broth for pilaf.
ReplyDeleteHomemade orange cranberry salad!
ReplyDeleteThe quilt is beautiful. Batiks are my favorites. My favorite dish at Thanksgiving is the dressing, or stuffing, if that's a thing. Yum. Thank you for this giveaway. (Ritaanneh at gmail dot com)

ReplyDeleteThe new pattern is lovely! Such a hard choice on my favorite Tday side, I guess it has to be stuffing!
ReplyDeleteLove the new pattern. She is gorgeous. Our favourite side dish is Ambrosia salad, made with sour cream, mini marshmallows, mandarin oranges, pineapple tibits and coconut - more of a dessert dish, but it is served as a salad in our house!!
ReplyDeleteLove this quilt pattern. My fave Thanksgiving side dish is my Dad's recipe for stuffing. Wouldn't be Thanksgiving without it. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteSimple, but effective. Love the look of on point quilts. Stuffing and pumpkin pie for me - although we've already celebrated in October here in Canada. basaran (dot) family (at) rogers (dot) com

ReplyDeleteWhat a creative setting! Favorite side dish is Mama Stamberg's Cranberry Relish though this year's NPR presentation featured a recipe for cranberry chutney by Madhur Jaffrey that I want to try....and thanks for the giveaway opportunity.
ReplyDeleteZesty Corn Stuffing Balls, my mother found the recipe 30+ years ago for my father who didn't like bread stuffing. Also, a noodle & sausage stuffing she made in a tube pan, so we had a cake of stuffing. petuniakr@aol.com
ReplyDeleteNilsa is absolutely fabulous! I could use a detailed pattern for setting triangles. My family doesn’t think Thanksgiving is complete without Grandma Ruth’s Cranberry Salad.
ReplyDeleteI love Nilsa, the reflecting colors dance across the quilt. My favorite side dish is an Amish Potato Stuffing my mother used to make (but we don't have it - butter and cream are not in my son's diet due to allergies - but I think about it every year!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous finish! My favorite side dish is stuffing just the way my mom used to make. My youngest sister is making it this year and I expect that it will be wonderful as she is a fabulous cook.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty quilt, Preeti!!! The colors! The design--has such great movement!!! My fav side dish is stuffing made with cranberry walnut bread!
ReplyDeleteThis is a gorgeous bundle and I love your quilt, happy and bright! Happy Thankgiving to you!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing ;)
What an amazing design! Love it! The colors are so happy! As far as a favorite side dish. . .for this year, it is my daughter's Brussel sprout salad. She peels the leaves from each sprout; chars them in olive oil in a wok, finishes them with the zest and juice from one lemon and a few toasted walnuts.--TerryK@OnGoingProjects
ReplyDeleteStuffing!
ReplyDeletesmartstitching@twc.com
Your quilt is so cute. I love me the stuffing (the stuff that's actually in the bird!!) So yummy.
ReplyDeleteAnother stunning modern pattern from you, Preeti!! I'm curious; I know that AccuQuilt partners with Island Batik for the ambassadors. Have you incorporated AccuQuilt die instructions into this quilt or into any of your other patterns? The AccuQuilt setting triangle dies are really slick for anyone who struggles with them, and they come in a nice range of sizes that coordinate with their Qubes' block sizes. I used the 8" setting triangle die for my Deco quilt instead of following the pattern instructions, so I'll have straight grain on the outside edges of my quilt instead of bias like I'd have had if I followed the instructions. Anywho -- my favorite "side dish" is molasses pumpkin pie, if you can consider pie to be a side dish. I really think of the pie as the MAIN COURSE of my Thanksgiving, and the turkey is just one of the side dishes...
ReplyDeleteThat is a great quilt - the size is so perfect! And so pretty in those amazing batiks!! Hope you had a great Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on another fun pattern! You always manage to write up something beautiful looking but probably easy and fast to sew up. xo
