I rarely give book/movie recommendations. This one is worth it!
Laapataa Ladies is an Indian movie set in rural India in the year 2001. It is wedding season and several newly-weds are on their way home in a crowded train, to begin a new life with their new partners. Two brides, similarly attired, their faces covered with red veils are mistakenly interchanged. Finding their way home, they discover more than they ever expected.
I have watched it thrice. I smiled, laughed and cried every time.

ReplyDeleteWhat made me smile May 29? My friend Preeti got a giggle out of me, doing a health check as it had been awhile since we spoke. What made me smile today, May 31? Among other things, loving my friend's writing despite not understanding any of the back-end processes of creating a quilt...in particular, the benefits of having friends with good shrubs/trees. Aspens do their thing here in CO in September...if you need a truly brilliant yellow background at that time, I can totally hook you up.

I have yet to buy a 180 ruler! But several friends recommend them! Now you will create a masterpiece corner beam! I intend to look up Laapataa Ladies! I’m reading Covenant of Water! Learning so much! And yes I’m feeling sniffly today! I think I’m getting hubby’s cold! 🤧
ReplyDeleteI'll be curious to see how you layout the blocks created using the Corner Beam ruler. I can imagine a variety of mirror layouts. If all the points meet in a 4 way intersection, tips on the best way to seam and press would be appreciated. You do Island Batik proud.

ReplyDeleteThe hexie blocks are so pretty - you're going to have a fabulous quilt at the end of the year. I'm interested to see where those kites end up, but I know better than to predict - you'll do something wonderful, I know. And what's with the little duck in the MSQC photos? He's adorable!
