July is the wonderful time of the year when the Island Batik Ambassadors receive their second shipment of supplies and goodies for the year. I need all the help to stay indoors when the outside is like a sauna.
I poked my head outside and felt like I got slapped by the 100 degree heat wave. I quickly shut the door and returned to play with my supplies.

These unboxing videos and blogs are dangerous, makes you want to run right out to the quilt shop and get some of the beauties (which is what the company wants!). Unfortunately, there's not enough budget for that. I'll just enjoy seeing what you make with all those pretties. I don't embroider, but my daughter does. If no one else speaks up for the kit, I would be interested and would pass to along to her. She likes playing with all the different embroidery stitches and making something a bit different.

Insert eyeroll and snorting sound effects. Ahem. Those new Island Batik fabrics look awesome for you, those purples especially. Can't wait to see what you will do with them! And of course you need lots and lots of your fave Aurifil Dove Grey. Curious, though -- why don't you get your 40 and 50 wt Dove Grey on the big cones since you go through so much of them? They are pricey up front but a much better value in the long run than the equivalent amount of thread on the smaller spools would be. And you can use the big cones on a domestic sewing machine if you put them on an inexpensive cone thread stand placed right behind the right side of your sewing machine. Also -- how did I miss your RSC hexies?! Are you into EPP slow stitching now or are you doing them with a tiny machine stitch instead? They are lovely!
