The issue focuses on "Modern Quilts with Classic Roots" and I am thrilled to be a part of it.
Made using the fabrics from the Original Aurora Collection (by Deb Tucker's Studio 180 Design), Forget Me Not finished at 76" by 100". The background is Glaze (Island Batik Neutral).
Forget Me Not uses one block, strip-pieced that creates a lovely secondary design when the blocks come together.
I am loving the gentle progression of blues and secondary designs in purple and green.
The batting is Hobbs Cotton/Polyester Blend. I quilted using my Walking Foot, following the grid in my favorite squiggly stitch. Why do I use it all the time, you ask. Because it is so forgiving. When the seams are not perfectly matched the squiggle brings them together.
A large quilt, Forget Me Not needed two people to model it.

Here they are. They are my friend's kids and they were properly compensated for their efforts.
And one last look, with my favorite model. He is speaking! Seriously, this is a silent role. My quilts do the talking.
| Thank you, Paul! |
At 33" by 36", Sky will most likely go to Premie Baby Quilts donation for the Inova Hospital in Fairfax.
Cute and bright giraffes on the back should fascinate some little guy!

ReplyDeleteP.S. as soon as I saw your drool-worthy “Forget Me Not” quilt, I thought “Preeti is an amazing Island Batiks Ambassador. People at the top of that company must be patting themselves on the back for choosing her!” :-)
DeleteCongratulations on having Forget Me Knot published. It is a Preeti classic. How did you hear my question about the squiggle line quilting? I would have called it serpentine. Now I understand your penchant for it. The Aurora collection is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteAnother lovely quilt, Preeti, and some gorgeous GREEN blocks for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge!
ReplyDeleteWhere can I purchase your Forget me Knot quilt? It is so BEAUTIFUL, and I love it.
ReplyDeleteDaiseyB you are a No-Reply Blogger and I don't have your email. That is why I am responding publicly. You can buy the Quilters World Spring 2026 Issue for the Quilt Pattern. The physical quilt is not for sale.
DeleteI keep forgetting about the squiggle stitch when I get out my walking foot. That would solve my problem of "not so in a ditch stitch" that I end up with. You are right, it's longer - since 2016. Covid19 exacerbated it. All based on the greed of a few. There's only money for their agenda, stolen from the better causes we taxpayers prefer. I keep thinking their individual greed will make it all implode but in the meantime We the People must do what we can for our democracy. My peace comes from my quilt creation and you inspire that for me.
ReplyDeleteAhhh so beautiful and so peaceful. Your quilt models in training were wonderful... but the Seasoned Quilt model speaking - oh my ( too funny) This is a beautiful quilt - you are a talented designer
ReplyDeleteLove Forget Me Not but have to say that Sky is my favorite! Might be because I always admire your patterns - or maybe because I’m getting my first grandbaby this summer and it’s a BOY!!
