Meet Westfield.
Two (too) handsome guys :-D |
This handsome quilt made his appearance in make Modern's Issue 64 in May 2025.
Modeled by Paul, Picture by Preeti, Cover by Make Modern |
Designed in EQ8, Westfield is made using the Island Batik collection Poetic Bouquet and is Layer-Cake Friendly. One pack of 10" squares plus 3.5 yards of background and he can be yours.
Westfield is now available as a standalone pattern in my Etsy Shop, available at a discount of 25%, that is just $9 but only till Wednesday, 9/3/25.
On my bed :-) |
The pattern is easy to piece and comes with detailed instructions and colored graphics for every step. I have also included a blank coloring sheet so that you can audition your coloring choices.
Gorgeous! |
But of course, there is a giveaway. Leave me a comment on this post, mentioning your favorite precut
(and why) and I will enter you in a contest to win a free PDF copy of the Westfield (or any other pattern from my Etsy shop). I will announce the winner next week.
I will be sharing with Quilting Jetgirl's Favorite Finish and all my favorite linky parties. See full list on the sidebar.
In other news, I have completed the Turquoise/Aqua/Teal blocks for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge. Here they are. Will share with Angela's Linky Party on Saturday.
All of them |
Framed 4-patch Blocks |
Divided 4-patch Blocks |
All scraps are Island Batik fabrics. It is good to be an ambassador.
The next Island Batik Challenge and Blog Hop requires us to make a Crazy Quilt. I will be using the Everlasting Collection.
Everlasting Collection - Selected Fabrics |
Here is a sneak peek.
One Block, Too Crazy |
The Threaded Chaos Blog Hop begins September 8, 2025. I will be posting my little beauty on 9/15/25. Won't you stop by then?
Westfield is a beauty, love those fabrics! My favorite precuts are actually half yard cuts. I normally make large quilts and fat quarters just aren't big enough. Your turquoise blocks are very pretty, you're using my favorite colors in this post, happy stitching!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on yet another beautiful pattern! The fabrics you used are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely quilt--beautiful work on this one. My favorite precut is charm squares...I find them very versatile-especially now that i am making smaller pieces...Hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the pattern release! It’s a beauty! I use to love fat quarters but now I’m trying to use them up to have a yardage stash. I’ll go with 5-inch precuts because I feel like that takes care of more cutting for me in the end :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the pattern release and thank you so much for linking up with Favorite Finish. I love yardage, so my favorite precut is a fat quarter. :) Please select another winner for the giveaway if my number is randomly chosen.
ReplyDeleteI am a sucker for fat quarter precuts. I have many. Love all those batik fabrics.
ReplyDeleteYou make lovely patterns and very clear instructions. Good job. Ann at FretNotYourself
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your newest pattern release. it's beautiful of course. I love the colors you've chosen for that next challenge. I love fat quarters in particular, but have a fondness for jelly rolls too. Right now there are at least 8 jelly rolls waiting to become something in my sewing room.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the pattern release! My favorite pre-cut is a jelly roll. :)
ReplyDeleteOoh, that crazy quilt challenge looks like a fun opportunity to play with your decorative machine stitches! I like the mix of Plusses and four patch square shapes in your Westfield quilt. Yet another versatile pattern that would beautifully showcase any number of different fabric collections. You could make this quilt over and over again like a "TNT" pattern (Tried N True).
ReplyDeleteVery pretty, Preeti! At the moment, my favorite precut is a layer cake.
ReplyDeleteI'm not that much into precuts; I prefer yardage. However, I do have some precuts. I prefer layer cakes or charm packs.

What a beautiful quilt!
ReplyDeleteI very much prefer fat quarters or larger. Layer cakes etc often seem to be cut inaccurately and all the little fuzzies from the pinked edges make me bonkers.
such pretty colors they look so good - I always like fat quarters or layer cakes the best.
ReplyDeleteI forgot to say why-- more fabric in them for a variety of sizes when you cut into them
DeleteCongratulations on your newest pattern! Fat quarters because you can cut such a variety of pieces out of one!--TerryK@OnGoingProjects
ReplyDeleteOooh, I love those purples and pinks in Westfield! Congrats on getting her shown off in Make Modern magazine! I appreciate fat quarters the most because it gives me plenty of opportunity to cut it into the pieces I decide on without having to buy a larger piece.

My favorite precut is the 10” layer cake. I find it very versatile for use in the many patterns I want to make!
ReplyDeleteI really like the quilt. I make a lot of donation quilts so I love precuts. Jelly rolls and 10 in squares are my favorites lately. Jmikebalou (at) aol (dot) com
ReplyDeleteSuper cool quilt!! Love the colors. I love all precuts, the last quilt I used a layer cake. Thanks. o diane 79 @ yahoo . com
ReplyDeleteLove the choice of colors in your new pattern. My favorite precut is FQ because they have straight cuts.
ReplyDeleteYour sneak peak has me longing for me. Congratulations on the debut Westfield.
